Interpreter Training

Interpreter Training

The International Institute of Akron (IIA) is always looking for new contract interpreters to serve refugees and immigrants requiring language assistance. If you are interested in becoming a contract interpreter for IIA, interpreter training, along with English competency testing, is a required prerequisite for obtaining interpreting assignments. Please see below for upcoming Interpreter Training dates.

Interpreter Training is provided annually (Generally in the first quarter of the year) for any persons interested in becoming interpreters for IIA. This two-day training is given to both introduce new interpreters to methods and processes of interpreting and to provide continuing education hours for current interpreters.

Please check back for upcoming Interpreter Training dates.
