We provide over 70 qualified interpreters to serve medical, social, and legal service providers in the Greater Akron area. Our language program includes on-site and over-the-phone interpreting. We also offer new interpreter training and continuing education. IIA also provides cross-cultural consulting and cultural competency programs that instruct providers on how to effectively communicate with non-English speakers through the interpreter.

We take into consideration the complexity of our client’s needs. Each interpreter request we receive differs in scope and complexity and requires our team’s expertise to accurately identify how to meet the client’s needs. With strict confidentiality we address each individual assignment by working directly with clients to identify the appropriate interpreting service and to match the assignment with the qualifications and experience of our interpreters. Our team considers how the professional strengths of our interpreters will be highlighted in each appointment in order to facilitate accurate communication.

Interpreting services are available 24/7. In case of an emergency in which you require an interpreter after 4:30 PM during the week, on weekends and holidays, and when the office is closed, please remember we have a different phone number. Contact your supervisor (law enforcement and hospitals) to get the number for emergency interpreting.
